The town of Lindsay’s roots date back to 1825 when the area was first surveyed for a town site. Train service was established in 1857 with a second railway connecting Lindsay to Fenelon Falls in 1871.
Lindsay is a community of over 20,000 people located within the Kawartha Lakes Region. Other small jewels in this beautiful country are nearby Fenelon Falls, Balsam, Pigeon, and Sturgeon Lakes. All these centres are connected via the Trent-Severn Waterway.
The area boasts excellent fishing with Muskellunge, Perch, Walleye and Bass available. Both winter and summer sports are popular with area residence and visitors from other parts of the province. The Balsam Lake Provincial Park provides excellent camping, swimming, hiking, and fishing.
The town of Lindsay has several medical walk-in centres along with a the fully accredited Ross Memorial Hospital. There are several schools available in the community along with the Fleming College Frost Campus for higher learning.
The town of Lindsay and surrounding area has many established vintage homes along with new modern residences for people who want the country charm with modern amenities. Only 1 ½ hours to downtown Toronto via vehicle with both train and Go-bus available.
